The 56th Annual Grammy Award nomination list is out and our own
Femi Kuti made it …again! But there are some top Hollywood stars who shockingly couldn’t escaped the famous list.
Ciara’s
“Body Party”
made Top 5 on the R&B Itunes Chart even before the song and video
hit radio airwaves. The media praised the track as, sultry, seductive
and slow jam banger. It stemmed from her novel album,
“Ciara” formerly
“One Woman Army”
yet was sidelined from the Grammy Award. The singer took to Instagram
over the weekend to calm down her millions of fans with a valid
explanation for the snug,
2 All My Fans Upset About Body Party Not being nominated:
Body
Party Going number 1 this year was a blessing within itself and for
that I am thankful! Unfortunately it couldn’t be eligible because of the
-My Boo- sample in it. I discovered this before the songs
allowed for nomination were set…However this year has been incredible
considering the journey a few years prior and it is JUST the beginning
So, I’za Happy Happy Happy Girl, and Thankful to have a Grammy
already!! Let’s keep all this good stuff going! Love CC!
Not only
Ciara had tears to hold back,
Wrecking Ball singer
Miley Cyrus
also got snubbed. It’s no more news that the former Disney child has
grown musically and she has other awards to prove to that effect. But,
seems the 'nudity' and 'smoking' scenes in her videos didn’t sink well
with the Grammy crew.
Like Ciara,
Wale’s “Bad” with Tiara Thomas also had nothing, and
K. Michelle who also got ditched wrote:
Wow
major Grammy snub. I guess a little black girl who truly speaks her
mind was a little 2much huh? Gotta work harder next year.
Another shocking snubs are
Lady Gaga,
Chris Brown and
Kelly Rowland.
All stars have been incredible with their arts this year. All of them
also released new successful tracks which were widely accepted but none
could get any of them into the ‘prestigious’ Grammy list of nods.
However,
Jay Z led the pack with nine nominations for his new LP
Magna Carta Holy Grail. New rules! Followed by
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis,
who snagged seven nominations after dominating the radio all year long
with hits like “Thrift Shop,” “Same Love” and “Can’t Hold Us.” Tying
them with seven nominations was newcomer
Kendrick Lamar, super producer
Pharrell Williams, and
Justin Timberlake who all had seven nods each.
Closely following J.T is
Drake with five, and newcomer
Lordes'
Royals track helped her gain four. Singer
Chrisette Michele will go up against
Faith Evans,
Alicia Keys, John Legend, and
TGT [Tank,Genuwine,Tyrese]for Best R&B Album, and after taking a break from acting to focus on his music career,
Mack Wilds has snagged his first Grammy ever in the Best Urban Contemporary Album category
Thank God the Grammys didn't snub
Kanye West like the
Louis Vuitton boss because
Yeezus album nabbed him two spots in Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album, while
Rihanna got three, as well as
Fantasia and
Tamar Braxton, who immediately reacted on Twitter;
