The BET Awards never fail to deliver memorable surprises. This year wasn’t any different.
Pharrell Williams kicked off the 2014 BET Awards at LA's Nokia Theatre with a performance of his latest "G I R L" single, "Come Get It Bae." With a handful of dancers dressed as cheerleaders behind him, Pharrell brought out Missy Elliott mid-set for a short and sweet performance her song, "Pass That Dutch."
The show’s host, actor/comedian Chris Rock, was met with a standing ovation as soon as he walked on to the stage. He killed his opening stand-up set with jokes about hip-hop’s biggest names and trending topics, starting with Jay Z and Solange’s elevator incident. "She (Solange) hit 'Blueprint 3' Jay Z, not 'Reasonable Doubt' Jay Z,” he joked, after saying that Jay Z kept calm cause he’s a business man.
After shouting out Dr. Dre for his recent Beats by Dre deal with Apple, Chris Rock slipped in a joke about Rick Ross' weight: "Dre has Beats, Rick Ross Dia-a-Beats." The Bawse wasted no time to responded via Twitter: "Chris Rock washed up haaaa."

Lil Wayne started his performance with a live debut of his new "Tha Carter V" single, "Krazy." After performing his charting-single "Believe Me," sans featured guest, Drake, Weezy shouted out his daughter Reginae.
Actor Terrence J accepted the award for Best Actress on behalf of Lupita Nyong'o, who wasn’t in attendance, John Legend took the stage to perform "You & I (Nobody In the World)." John Legend stayed put behind his piano, as he introduced Jhene Aiko to the stage to perform “The Worst."
For the first time since released from jail (after a four month stint), Chris Brown performed his hit, "Loyal," alongside Lil Wayne and Tyga.
Minutes after closing his set with Travis Barker behind the drums, Breezy dropped his new single, "New Flame," featuring Usher and Rick Ross.
Usher reminds viewers and attendees of the greatness of his discography with a medley of his hits (“Nice & Slow,” “Confessions,” “Caught Up,” “You Remind Me,” “You Don’t Have To Call”), and wraps his set up with his new single, “Good Kisser.”
Pharrell Williams surprised with his win for Video of the Year ("Happy"), not only because he beat nominees such as Beyoncé, Jay Z and Drake, but because he rocked comfy UGG boots.
Jennifer Hudson, wearing a little black leather dress, strutted down the aisles singing her catching single, "Walk It Out," and hit her signature high notes during her live debut of "It’s Your World."
Chris Rock took a note from Ellen DeGeneres' 2014 Oscars hosting gig and fed those in attendance with food; but instead of pizza, he passed around Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.
Nicki Minaj kicked off her anticipated performance by rapping to her Lil Herb-assisted song, "Chi-Raq" while riding the back of a motorcycle. She then transitioned to the main stage, where she performed her "The Pink Print" single, "Pills N Potions," in the middle of a fairy-tale themed set.
After winning Best New Artist earlier in the night, August Alsina shocked everyone when he brought out Trey Songz, who he reportedly had beef with, and Chris Brown to perform his single, "I Luv This Shit."
John Legend opened BET's tribute to Richie with his rendition of "Hello" and "Still." Ledisi took the stage next to perform The Commodores classic "Brick House." Yolanda Adams closed the tribute with a powerful performance of “Jesus Is Love.”
Winner of the night, Pharrell Williams, presented Lionel Richie with the honorary Lifetime Achievement award. “Soul is a feeling, not a color,” Richie said during his acceptance speech. He continued to thank his fellow Commodores band members, Berry Gordon, Steve Miller and more.
The legendary singer brought all those in attendance to their feet when he took the stage to perform "Easy Like Sunday Morning" and "All Night Long."
As guessed (and rumored), T.I. brought out Iggy Azalea to join him for a performance of "No Mediocre." Iggy followed up with a performance of her top charting hit, "Fancy." The camera caught Nicki Minaj, Keyshia Cole, and more dancing along.
Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Young Money members (except Drake) took the stage to accept the award for Best Group. "This wasn't put together by no record label; it was hand-picked by this man here," Minaj said of Lil Wayne. "I am honored to be in your presence."

Singer Mya has denied reports that she's Jay Z's longtime mistress. There was a recent blind item suggesting Mya and Jay Z have been in an 11 year affair, with the rapper allegedly financially supporting her. But Mya says it is 100% false.
Mya denied the reports on instagram today after a fan asked her if it was true. "Heard you and Jay Z had an 11 year affair. Are you his side chick or nah?" the fan asked
Mya replied;

A fraudster nicknamed 'Fizzy' because of his love of champagne has been jailed for eight years for conning vulnerable pensioners out of their life savings.
Frank Onyeachonam ran the UK end of global lottery scam that was orchestrated from his native Nigeria for seven years to fund his lavish millionaire’s lifestyle.
It involved hundreds of perpetrators in several countries, detectives say.
In the UK, 38-year-old Onyeachonam conned pensioners out of sums from £2,000 to £600,000, deliberately targeting his victims because they were potentially vulnerable to his tactics.
While he bled them of their life savings, Onyeachonam enjoyed a life of fast cars, champagne and designer clothes.
Pictures he posted on Facebook show he spent the cash on Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Armani designer clothes, Rolex watches, Porsches and Maseratis.
He even stuck wads of what look like £50 notes in his Buzz Lightyear toy.
Onyeachonam, of Canning Town, east London, was found guilty at the Old Bailey of conspiracy to defraud following a three-week trial.
Lawrencia Emenyonu, 38, and Bernard Armah, 51, both of Wood Green, north London, were also found guilty of money laundering. All three denied the charges.
Emenyonu was jailed for 18 months while her partner Armah received an eight-month term.
Judge Rebecca Poulet QC, said there had been 'some very serious outcomes' for the victims caught up in the scam.
She told married father-of-two Onyeachonam: 'I judge your culpability to be very high. This was a very well thought out operation, sophisticated in both its planning and its operation.
'Mr Onyeachonam, you targeted these individuals because they were elderly and likely to agree and be tricked by this scam.'
This was demonstrated in the fraudster’s own notes in which he described them as 'crippled, old or poor', she said. A regular in members' clubs Onyeachonam's favourite drink was Ace of Spades champagne (pictured in the door) costing between £300 and £500 a bottle. His fridge was also stacked with Dom Pérignon (top shelf left) and Moët & Chandon (middle shelf)
The harm that was caused to these people could not just be calculated in financial terms but also on the 'dreadful impact ' on their lives, mental capacity and relationships with loved-ones.
The judge went on: 'You contested the case in the face of powerful evidence. You demonstrated the arrogance that you must have carried with you throughout this fraud by continuing after you knew that the police had raided your premises.'
The ruse - known as an 'advance fee' fraud - saw Onyeachonam send victims emails claiming they had won millions of pounds on a non-existent Australian lottery and requesting a charge to release their winnings.Onyeachonam was seen as the key figure in the UK but police suspect a criminal network was in place in several countries around the world

The defendant was thought to have started working on the scam almost immediately after he arrived in the UK from Nigeria in 2005, and was said to have carried on into 2012 while he was on bail following his arrest the year before.
His crimes were uncovered in a three-year operation led by the National Crime Agency with assistance from the Postal Inspection Service and Internal Revenue Service in the US.

mentally ill when he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, in his home in February 2013, a report has been released. A panel of mental health experts has concluded that Oscar Pistorius was not suffering from mental illness when he killed Reeva, the chief prosecutor at his murder trial said today.
The mental experts, a psychologist and 3 psychiatrists all agreed that Oscar understood the gravity of his act when he shot Reeva through a closed toilet door. The request for evaluation came after his defence team brought a psychiatrist who testified that Oscar had an anxiety disorder, because of his disability, that could have contributed to the shooting. His trial resumed today after a 1-month break.
Giorgio Chiellini is not happy about FIFA's decision to ban Suarez for four months for biting him, a decision Uruguay says they will contest.
On his official website, Chiellini criticized the punishment, calling it excessive. What he wrote below
"Now inside me there's no feelings of joy, revenge or anger against Suárez for an incident that happened on the pitch and that's done. There only remains the anger and the disappointment about the match. My only thought is for Luis and his family, because they will face a very difficult period. We also know that, as it seeks to recruit the gullible, Boko Haram exploits the economic disparities that remain a problem in our country. We are addressing these challenges through such steps as bringing stakeholders together and creating a safe schools initiative, a victims’ support fund and a presidential economic recovery program for northeastern Nigeria. We are also committed to ridding our country of corruption and safeguarding human and civil rights and the rule of law.
Something positive can come out of the situation in Nigeria: most important, the return of the Chibok girls, but also new international cooperation to deny havens to terroristsand destroy their organizations wherever they are — whether in the forests of Nigeria, on the streets of New York or sanctuaries in Iraq or Pakistan. Those who value humanity, civilization and the innocence of children can dono less.

Chris Brown has tasted jail and no longer seems afraid of it. He was in Washington D.C yesterday for his assault trial and rejected a plea deal with prosecutors...and now he's headed for trial.
TMZ reports that Chris was close to copping a plea but the deal fell apart because the prosecutor and Chris' lawyer couldn't agree on a statement of fact about the events leading to the alleged assault.
Chris has always denied assaulting a fan in 2013 outside a hotel in D.C. If he'd pled guilty, he would not have to serve any additional time in jail. Now that he's going to trial, jail time is on the line again. His bodyguard has already been convicted of the assault. A trial date has been set for September.
