Black Friday Shopping:
Early-Bird deals:
• Nov. 9th – Office Max started their ‘Black Friday Everyday’ deals
• Sunday, Nov. 18th at 5pm – Sears starts their Black Friday sales online (You have to join the Sears’ ‘Shop Your Way’ club. Then you can shop online and just pick everything up at the closest Sears store.)
• Monday, Nov. 19th – Amazon.com starts their Black Friday Deals Week. (They already have some Black Friday ‘Lightening Deals’ that are already available.)
• Nov. 19th – 22nd – Little Tykes’ early bird online sale
• Nov. 21st – (the day before Thanksgiving) – Kohl’s online deals start
• Nov. 21st – on TV…QVC is starting their Black Friday deals at midnight Wednesday
Thanksgiving Day:
10am – Lord & Taylor is opening for the 1st time ever on Thanksgiving Day – at their flagship store in Manhattan (to try and get all the shoppers who go in person to the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade.)
Black Friday: Deals @ Wal-Mart / Sears // and hours
Opening at 8 PM Thanksgiving Night:
• Wal-Mart
• K-Mart
• Sears
(Sears will stay open all night, just like Wal-Mart – and Sears will stay open until 10pm on Black Friday)
Wal-Mart will do like last year and have different deals starting at different times (to help with store overcrowding)
o 8pm – their 1st doorbuster deals start
o 10pm – the sales start on electronics
• They are guaranteeing shoppers that they will have 3 items – if they’re in line inside the store between 10 & 11pm
• The Apple iPad 2 with WiFi plus – for $399
o (you get a $75 gift card if you buy that)
• An Emerson 32-inch LCD TV – for $148
• And an LG Blu-Ray player – for $38 (those usually sell for $70)
o 5am on Black Friday – a 3rd round of sales starts – on jewelry and clothing

Target’s Black Friday deals that start at 4am on Black Friday morning:

• 10-dollar gift cards for shoppers who spend 50-dollars or more on clothing
• A 60-dollar gift card if you buy an iPad2 for $399. (That’s the same price as on Apple’s website – and the same as Wal-Mart’s Black Friday price, but Wal-Mart is offering a bigger gift card with purchase – a 75-dollar gift card)

• Michael’s (craft stores) will be open 4PM – 11PM on Thanksgiving Day – Then they will close – and re-open again at 7am Black Friday morning

o Toys ‘R Us stores are going to be giving away a 30-dollar gift bag to the first 200 shoppers who show up to get in line at each Toys ‘R Us store on Thanksgiving night.

• They won’t even be putting up the Christmas decorations until the day after Thanksgiving.
• They put out an ad that says, “At Nordstrom, we just like the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time.
• They will be open on Black Friday.
Holiday Gifts:
Complete collections – Box Sets / TV Shows
Several classic TV series are being released in box sets for the holidays. The big one is a complete ‘Friends’ collection from all 10 seasons. But there is also a complete ‘Scooby-Doo Where Are You’ box set, and complete sets of the ‘Flinstones’ and the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.’
The classic ‘Dick Van Dyke Show’ is also out in a box set. The critics are calling that one of the best sit-coms of all time.
Black Friday – $5 Teddy Bears @ Build-A-Bear
As a one-day deal on Black Friday, the Build-a-Bear Workshops will let you make special teddy bears for just 5-dollars each. And they will also be selling little outfits for them for an extra 5-dollars in case you want to make it a 10-dollar gift.

Small Business Saturday – Nov. 24th
For the 3rd year now, the day after Black Friday shopping is being designated as Small Business Saturday. It’s over the Thanksgiving weekend (on Sat., Nov. 24th) The aim is to encourage people to shop locally for the holidays at small businesses.
And if you shop with your American Express card, you get a 25-dollar credit off your next bill if you spend 25 at a local business.

‘Free Shipping Day’ is coming up on Monday,December 17th. Hundreds of stores will be participating.
