2012 was generally a good year for African music. Part of what most African musicians are holding onto, going into 2013, is the fact that during the past twelve months, they did themselves and the continent proud.
It’s one year that saw some of the continent’s young music professionals take the world by storm, creating incredibly historic benchmarks, and winning the world’s attention. It was that good!
In no particular order, howzitMSN takes a look at ten of the continent’s young musicians who stood out in 2012.
Note:The list took into consideration, the artiste’s consistency under the year in review, taking note of the reviews, nominations, and awards received. The search was not limited to only young African artistes living in their native country, but focused generally on every African artiste living everywhere.
