LaLa and Carmelo Anthony Separated? Garnett Fight Highlights Woes

In more LaLa and Carmelo Anthony news, the pair is rumored to be separated. His valiant defense of his wife’s honor against Kevin Garnett’s trash talk the other night might have lead nay-sayers to believe that the couple’s marriage is on the road to redemption. However, reports have confirmed that LaLa and Melo are indeed still estranged and might be headed for divorce court in the near future.
Rumors about the Anthony’s began to intensify after the most recent game between the Celtics and the Knicks. During the game, Garnett’s legendary trash talking crossed the line when he informed Carmelo that his wife “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.” None too pleased, an on-court altercation ensued between the two and Carmelo even took it off-court; waiting for the big man by the team buses after the game concluded. Team officials and police officers had to defuse the situation.
Afterward, the two talked it out like adults and settled their differences, but the NBA wasn’t inclined to let Anthony off the hook so easily. The Knick’s forward has been suspended for one game, costing him a whooping $176,700.
Ouch.
Of the confrontation that led to his suspension, Melo said, ‘‘It’s over with for me. Whatever happened last night, happened. The words that was being said between me and Garnett, it happened, can’t take that away,’’ Anthony said. ‘‘I lost my cool yesterday, I accept that, but there’s just certain things that push certain people’s buttons.’’
Certainly telling a man that his wife tastes like a delicious brand of cereal is one of those things.
It’s been reported that LaLa will stand by her man – from afar – since the pair is still living separately. While the incident with Garnett is the first time any cheating speculation has been raised about Mrs. Anthony, Melo has endured his fair share of cheating rumors. However, most recently one source indicated that cheating has not been the root of the couple’s marital problems. “I have not heard anything about him having another woman,” the inside source informed.
Another revealed to NY Daily News,
“From what everyone on the show knows, they have their disagreements, but they are not divorcing. She has been in Miami and the problems seem to be over how much time she is dedicating to getting her makeup line launched, which she is expecting to make millions internationally. It’s a major story line in her show.”
In any event, Carmelo and LaLa are facing a rough patch in their marriage. Only time will tell if the pair will reconcile or go their separate ways. In the meantime, maybe LaLa’s management can look into a Honey Nut Cheerios endorsement to capitalize on this whole trash talk nonsense.
