The star of NBC's "The Office," who's had significant roles in several films including last summer's hit comedy "This Is The End," was detained in the Bahamas for drug possession as he tried to leave the country with half a gram of marijuana and 18 ecstasy pills, authorities tell the Associated Press.
But Robinson, 41, got off easy. Although he was taken into custody and had to appear before a magistrate — where he pleaded guilty on two counts of drug possession — he was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and to leave the country immediately. The actor potentially faced up to four years in prison.
"It was nothing major," Stephen Dean of the Royal Bahamas Police Force told the AP.
Robinson was in the Bahamas for a comedy show at the Atlantis Resort & Casino. His rep declined to comment, but thanked us for reaching out. Omg! has also reached out to Bahamian police for further information, but has not yet received a response.
Of course, this is not Robinson's first drug run-in with the law. Back in 2008, he was arrested in Los Angeles and charged with two felonies for possession of ecstasy and meth. After completing a drug diversion program, he was able to avoid jail time then as well.
