SOME say it's good fun, others say it's poor form but this cheeky
surfer sure got the crowd talking at the Festival of Surfing.
Noosa resident Stuart Scott said he was sitting down on the rocks
watching the competition when one competitor stole the show.
"It was in the first or second round, we were watching the real big
stars," he said. "I don't know who it was but it was the headline
event of the festival.
"I just so happened to be sitting on the rocks at First Point when this person went 'flashing past'."
By chance Mr Scott managed to click his camera at the right time and snap the amusing shot.
"I didn't realise what I had taken at the time. It was all over in a moment."
Mr Scott shared the photo on Facebook to see what the crowds thought,
while most felt it was a bit of fun some were offended by the act.
"It wasn't as if thousands acted in horror, there were a lot of people
watching. Certainly online there has been a lot of humour," he said.
"It's not something you see every day."
Mr Scott felt the surfer did it to stand out in the competition.
"Surely it takes practice getting your board shorts down while doing that. He obviously thought he'd get some extra points."
Mr Scott saw the bright side though.
"I've certainly seen uglier sights on the beach," he said.
