Jackson fined for tweet: Threatening message costs Spurs player $25,000

Stephen Jackson of the San Antonio Spurs has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for a threatening tweet he sent to Oklahoma City’s Serge Ibaka, a Dec. 10 report by Inquisitr reveals.
Jackson sent the tweet to Ibaka after Friday night's game when his team played against the Los Angeles Lakers. Ibaka confronted Jackson's friend and Laker's player, Metta World Peace during the game.
Jackson went to twitter and wrote:
“Next time he run up on me im goin in his mouth. That’s a promise. He doin 2 much."
NBA Executive Vice President Stu Jackson punished the Spurs player by fining him $25,000. Stephen Jackson then deleted his comment and apologized to Ibaka and his fans.
“I apologize to Serge Ibaka, the NBA, and to all my fans for the comments I made,” Jackson tweeted. “It was unprofessional and childish.”
San Antonio Spurs General Manger, RC Buford, released a statement over the threatening tweet.

He wrote:
“The recent public comments made by Stephen Jackson are absolutely unacceptable, cannot be tolerated and do not reflect the standards held by the San Antonio Spurs.”
The Spurs will play against Oklahoma City Thunder Dec. 17.
