Police released the autopsy 15 years after his death the other day but they say that due to an error in administration it was released prematurely.
His family was supposed to be notified before they released it for the public to see.
Capt Billy Hayes of LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division issued this statement;
"Our detectives personally spoke with the Wallace family (Friday) night, and apologized for not notifying them prior to the release. Obviously this has been a challenging case for us to solve. We hope that witnesses or other people with information will come forward and give us the clues we need to solve this case."
There was a security hold that had been placed on the report and that was lifted last week. In the report it details that the rapper was shot by four bullets while sitting in the passenger seat of an SUV and that only one bullet, that hit his heart, lung, and colon was fatal.
The shooter of Wallace, who also goes by the name, Biggie Smalls has never been found.
Many people have speculated that the death of Biggie and rapper Tupac Shakar resembled each other and that they could be related somehow. The two were friends who became rivals before their deaths.
Wallace's family wants the case closed for good.
