Dublin has had just about enough of a topless Rihanna as locals have taken to the streets to cover up her raunchy billboards. Meanwhile, RiRi is ignoring the controversy and growing her beauty empire with yet another MAC collection.
When Rihanna released her album art in the U.S we didn’t think much of it, but that just goes to show you the major cultural differences between the States and other countries like Dublin.
While we have become accustomed to seeing girls in see through tops and booty shorts that should probably be classified as underwear, Dubliners have decided to put their foot down after seeing Rihanna’s topless album art plastered all over the city.
The original photo was Rihanna’s “Unapologetic” album cover where she is seen covering one of her breasts with her arm as the other is partially covered with the album title.
Well it looks like that was just a bit too much for some of the people of Dublin who are taking matters into their own hands by covering the posters with fabric and dresses.
That’s right. Dubliners have begun stapling articles of clothing or old pieces of fabric to the images to give RiRi the appearance of having on a tube top in the picture instead of being nude.
This comes not too long after the Bajan beauty also filmed her music video for “We Found Love” out in a field in Dublin where she was completely topless.
“If someone wants to borrow my field and things become inappropriate, than I say, ‘Enough is enough,’” the dedicated Christian farmer said back in 2011 when they shot the video.
The people of Dublin are obviously still upset about the topless shoot and are done with RiRi’s raunchy image.
“I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends,” the farmer added. “Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God.”
While the local Dubliners didn’t slam RiRi with any religious judgments, they did take to Twitter to express their feelings about the topless pictures.
One user admitted that whoever posted the dresses over the billboard is a bit crazy, but still managed to accomplish a good deed.
“Someone has stapled a dress to a Rihanna poster on Church St.,” the tweet read. “Well done, you complete nutcase.”
Others, however, felt like the dresses should be seen as street art instead of a major political statement – we’re pretty sure that this wasn’t just for the sake of art though.
Anyway, we aren’t sure if RiRi has heard the news about her posters being covered up but if she has she certainly doesn’t care.
RiRi has more good news for her beauty empire – and we already know how she’s going to celebrate – as she has launched her second collection with MAC Cosmetics.
It’s just her latest accomplishment in the beauty and fashion industry while Chris Brown’s famous sideline turned boo turned sideline again turned girlfriend turned acquaintance turned back into girl friend, Karrueche Tran, is still struggling to get her toes wet in the fashion world.
