50 Cent and Eminem Talk "My Life" Single and Video The hip hop super powers get personal on the Adam Levine-assisted song.
50 Cent and Eminem are addressing a topic they know well on the new single, "My Life." In a recent interview with MTV News, the old friends and frequent collaborators said the song, from 50 Cent's upcoming album, Street King Immortal, represents a snapshot of where they are in the present moment both professionally and personally.
"Me and Fif can probably go on forever talkin' about our lives," Eminem said. "The record is kind of a little glimpse of the way we were feeling at the time."
The song was produced by Symbolic One, who also helmed Kanye West's "Power" and features Maroon 5's Adam Levine on the hook. A video for the track, which depicts 50 and Eminem on the run from a helicopter with a spotlight, premiered this morning.
"The video is kind of abstract; it's kind of metaphoric in a sense, like the paranoia of feeling like we're being chased," Em said. "Whether it's true or not, it's kind of how we feel. It's kind of a metaphor for us running for our lives. Personal lives and from fame, everything that goes with the game."
50 Cent premiered the song live on NBC's The Voice last night sans Eminem but with Levine, who is also a judge on the singing competition show, by his side. Street King Immortal is due out February 13.
